MM2H Questions

Is MM2H still open?

Yes. The official MM2H portal currently lists Platinum, Gold, Silver, and SEZ/SFZ categories. Rules should be rechecked before a live application because official requirements can change.

Is MM2HGuide.com official?

No. MM2HGuide is an independent guide that links back to official MM2H and MOTAC sources so readers can verify the underlying rules.

What is the minimum age for MM2H?

Platinum, Gold, and Silver require the main applicant to be at least 25. SEZ/SFZ starts at age 21, with separate 21-49 and 50+ requirements.

Is property compulsory under MM2H?

The current official category rules make property purchase compulsory after approval, with different minimums or SEZ/SFZ location rules by category. SEZ/SFZ timing should be revalidated for live cases because official sources use different wording.

Can I work under MM2H?

Platinum lists business and career opportunities as allowed. Gold, Silver, and SEZ/SFZ do not list those activities as allowed under their category pages.

Do I need a licensed agent?

Official guidelines state applications must be submitted through an MM2H tour operating business licensed by MOTAC under the Tourism Industry Act 1992.

Is the fixed deposit a fee?

No. The fixed deposit is a programme requirement, while participation, processing, system, visa, and renewal charges are fee items. Withdrawal rules are limited and should be verified before operational planning.

Can dependants help meet the stay requirement?

For participants below 50, official category wording allows the 90 cumulative days to be fulfilled by the principal and/or listed family members depending on category.

Is the eligibility check an official approval?

No. It is only a guide to help identify which MM2H categories to read next. Official eligibility and approval remain with the Malaysian authorities.

Are translations required for MM2H documents?

Official checklist wording requires proof of family relationship to be translated and certified by a Malaysian embassy, high commission, consulate, or Malaysia Ministry of Foreign Affairs when relevant.
